Who it’s for

For owners who are the bottleneck in their own company

Right fit

Owner-led contractors

  • Turnover of roughly £1M to £10M a year
  • The owner still runs operations, money and sales personally
  • You do not know your real margin until the year end
  • Growth has stalled because everything goes through you
Not the right fit

Not for you yet if

  • You are under £500K and still on the tools
  • You want an accountant for tax returns
  • You are not ready to change how the business runs
The problem

Why growing contractors hit a ceiling

No operational structureWithout systems, roles and project controls, every new job adds chaos. The owner fights fires instead of growing the company.
Flying blind on numbersTurnover goes up while cash gets tighter. Without weekly numbers and a cash flow forecast, problems show up when it is too late.

The operating system Craftex runs on

Craftex, our London design and build company, grew because we built systems, numbers and a team that runs the work. That is the structure we put into your company, with the same people who run it for us.

Not a consultant’s slide deck. The way our own construction company is run.

  • Weekly numbers routine used at Craftex
  • Project controls tested on live projects
  • A structure that lets the owner step back
  • Hands-on implementation, not just advice

FAQ

Questions contractors ask

What is a fractional COO?

A senior operations leader who works in your business for a set number of days a month, building systems, structure and controls without the cost of a full-time director.

Is a fractional FD the same as an accountant?

No. Your accountant handles tax and year-end accounts. A fractional finance lead runs weekly numbers, cash flow forecasting and financial decisions with you, and works alongside your accountant.

How many days a month do you work?

It depends on your size and needs. We agree days and scope in writing after the first call.

Do you work on site or remotely?

Both. Most work is remote with regular on-site or in-person sessions when needed.

How long does an engagement last?

Most owners start with a 90-day plan and continue month to month once the system is running.

What results can we expect?

Clearer numbers, better cash flow and an owner who is no longer the bottleneck. We do not promise specific turnover or profit figures.
